Falling

I'm Falling
ㅤㅤ
I was standing in that field.
Wary as I was felt the need to lay in the tall grass.
ㅤㅤ
I loved that grass.ㅤ
Wading through its waist high softness.
The feeling of its rippled tops tickling my palms as its long tails slip through my fingers.
ㅤㅤ
The relief on my knees as the soft grasses and earth share in my burden in a way concrete never would.
My legs gave up.
The love that field had showed me made my legs betray my will.
My knees buckled and I could feel my body slipping backwards into the loving arms of that loving grass.
It swallowed me.ㅤ
I cleared my six feet of height and kept sinking deep into the earth.
Its depths are warm.
The soft clay ripples across my pained muscles.
Smooth worn boulders conspire to set my loose joints.
Tight grasses bind me to squeeze my body to keep me from falling apart.
To hold the reshaping the earth has given me.
I fall deeper into the earth, tumbling unfettered.
Into the Earth.
